Zella's Bakery (or Zella's) was established in 2015, by two sisters from Detroit, Michigan, Tolani and Maia Anthony. They wanted their business to offer unique, sweet and savory, plant-based products prepared with one key ingredient - Love. Affectionately naming the business after their late grandmother, Ozella Germaine, Tolani and Maia dedicated themselves to maintaining high-quality products with both a traditional feel and modern balance. Zella's is a growing Detroit-based business that caters to a variety of customers. You can find Zella’s products at select stores, farmers markets and community events throughout Metro Detroit.
Zella’s products are 100% vegan and organic except when noted. One of our specialties is transforming traditional comfort food into a special plant-based cuisine. Our goal is to create great food and experiences that are positive and memorable. Zella’s Bakery is also a Michigan certified wholesaler of vegan products with a plethora of items ranging from cookies, cakes and bars to casual and upscale savory cuisine.
We are excited to be a part of the Meijer Rivertown Market family and can't wait to display some customer favorites on Sunday, April 14, like our Spiced Molasses Cookie, Lemon Citrus Cookie (for you lemon lovers) and Oatmeal Cranberry Cookie. We'll also have our scrumptious Neapolitan Crunch Cake and Ozella's Famous Carrot Cake, which sells out fast!
